Ping An (02378) subsidiary, Hansheng Investment, with assets under management of $271 billion, announced today the appointment of Ray Farris as its first Chief Economist, effective immediately. Ray will be responsible for leading economic analysis and providing unique insights for both Ping An and Hansheng Investment in this newly created role. At Ping An Group, Ray will provide macroeconomic viewpoints and research in response to the constantly changing global macroeconomic and geopolitical environment. At Hansheng Investment, Ray will use in-depth macroeconomic data, trends, and insights to make appropriate investment and asset allocation decisions. Ray will be based in Singapore and will report to Hansheng Investment's Chief Investment Officer, Vis Nayar. With over 30 years of experience in the international financial services sector, Ray has served as an economist and strategist, leading economic, market, and policy research on three continents. During his 22 years at Credit Suisse, he held various leadership positions and, before leaving, served as Global Chief Economist and Chief Investment Officer for the Americas in New York.
