Allianz Investment announced the appointment of Xue Yonghui as the new Chief Investment Officer for Equities in the Asia-Pacific region, officially taking office in January 2025.
Allianz Investment announced the appointment of Xue Yonghui as the new Chief Investment Officer for Asia-Pacific equities, effective January 2025. He will be responsible for leading the outstanding equity team in the region, succeeding Chen Zhiqiang, who has served at Allianz Investment for many years and is about to retire. Xue Yonghui has over 30 years of experience in the asset management industry, leading investment teams in various locations in the Asia-Pacific region, managing different types of Asian equity portfolios, and successfully driving the growth of the equity business in the Asia-Pacific region. Prior to joining Allianz Investment, Xue Yonghui served as the Chief Investment Officer at Hang Seng Investment Management since January 2019. He has also held important positions such as Chief Investment Officer for Asia and Head of Asian Equities at Barings Asset Management, Chief Investment Officer for Asia-Pacific and Head of Investment Strategy at Mirae Asset Global Investments (Hong Kong), as well as Senior Investment Manager for Hong Kong and China at Schroders Investment Management. Virginie Maisonneuve, Chief Investment Officer for Global Equities at Allianz Investment, said that Chen Zhiqiang played a crucial role in establishing the equity business in the Asia-Pacific region and expanding into new asset classes, especially Chinese A-shares and Indian stocks. She thanked him for his dedicated contributions over the years at Allianz Investment and wished him all the best in his retirement. She continued by expressing her excitement for Xue Yonghui's arrival and stated that she looks forward to leveraging his rich knowledge and professional experience to further drive the growth of the Asia-Pacific equity business.
