Mr. Yuan has more than 16 years of experience in equity investment and research, portfolio management, commodity research, strategy consulting and high-end equipment manufacturing. Prior to joining the Manager, he was portfolio manager of Parkland Global Opportunities Fund, a Hong Kong based hedge fund from 2020 to 2022. Mr Yuan also held the position of Head of Greater China Metals & Mining Equity Research at HSBC from 2010 to 2020, and was a no.1 ranked sector analyst by AsiaMoney Survey in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019, a survey voted by over 2800 investment institutions across Asia including over 400 hedge funds. Mr Yuan was a strategy consultant at Capgemini Consulting (UK) from 2008 to 2010, and advised clients in public and private sectors such as the National Health Service, the Department of Education and Kellogg’s. Mr Yuan is also an experienced angel investor with more than 10 investments in emerging market start-ups.
